# Can I change the text size in CookBook?

| Quick answer: Yes. In Settings you’ll find a System text sizes toggle. When it’s On, CookBook follows the font size you’ve set in iOS or Android. Turn it Off and a Custom text sizes slider appears, move it from 0.8 × to 1.5 × to shrink or enlarge every screen inside the app.

# Where to find it

1. Tap **Side menu ☰ → Settings**.
2. Scroll to **Font & accessibility** (or **General** on some versions).
3. Toggle **System text sizes** **On** or **Off**.
4. If **Off**, adjust the **Custom text sizes** slider until the preview feels comfortable.

---

# How it works

1. **System text sizes - On**
    1. CookBook mirrors the Dynamic Type size (iOS) or Font Size setting (Android) you’ve chosen at the OS level.
    2. Change the size in your phone’s accessibility settings and CookBook updates automatically.
2. **System text sizes - Off**
    1. A **Custom text sizes** slider appears.
    2. Drag left or right to pick anything from **0.8 ×** (20 % smaller) up to **1.5 ×** (50 % larger).
    3. The entire UI - recipes, buttons, shopping lists, planner, all resizes instantly, no app restart needed.

Switch back anytime: toggling System text sizes **On** hides the custom slider and restores the device’s default fonts.

# Tips

* If buttons look crowded after enlarging text, try reducing your text size slightly.
* Turning the toggle back on immediately reverts to OS-controlled sizing - handy if you change your system setting often.
