# How do I bulk export or back up all of my recipes?

| **Quick answer:** Go to **Side menu ☰ → Settings → Backup / Export recipes**, choose **Text**, **PDF**, or **CookBook (CB)** format, then save or email the ZIP file that downloads.

# Step-by-step export

1. Tap the **Side menu ☰**.
2. Scroll to **Settings**.
3. Tap **Backup / Export recipes**
4. Choose an export type:
1. **Text** – plain-text versions of every recipe.
2. **PDF** – one PDF per recipe.
3. **CookBook (CB)** – our native format for easy re-import.
5. Wait for the ZIP file to finish generating, then pick **Save** or **Share**.

These files contain all of your recipe content and can be viewed, imported to other platforms or saved as a backup.

### About images 📸

* Images aren’t embedded inside the files; each file points back to CookBook’s image servers.
* **If you plan to leave CookBook, make sure the new app imports those images before you delete your CookBook account.** Deleting your account removes the images from our servers and they can’t be restored.
