# Format recipe instruction text

You can add rich text formatting to your recipe instructions while editing a recipe. This is useful for highlighting temperatures, timings, key actions, warnings, or notes inside an instruction step.

1. Open the **recipe** you want to edit.
2. Tap the **Edit** icon.
3. Scroll to the **Instructions** section.
4. Tap **Learn about instruction formatting** to view the available formatting options.
5. Wrap the text you want to format using the markers below.
6. Tap **Save** when you are happy with the recipe.
