# How to import recipes from notes app

| **Quick answer:** In your Notes app, open the note, tap **Share → CookBook**, then choose **Save to CookBook** or **Edit recipe**. CookBook scans the text, fills in the title, ingredients, and steps, and saves it to your library.

# Import text & links from notes app

Import from notes and plain text from anywhere! Websites, emails, texts, we've got them all covered.

1. **Open** the recipe stored in your notes app
2. Tap on the **Share** icon
3. Pick **CookBook** from the list of available apps. If the app isn't shown, follow the steps in these links to add CookBook to your share sheet for [iOS](https://help.cookbookmanager.com/en/article/how-to-add-cookbook-to-your-ios-share-sheet-3ltzbe/) and [Android](https://help.cookbookmanager.com/en/article/how-to-add-cookbook-to-your-android-share-menu-4i5j76/).
4. Choose either:
    * **Save to CookBook:** Saves the recipe immediately without opening the CookBook app.
    * **Edit recipe:** Lets you modify details (tags, notes, etc.) before saving.
