OCR stands for Optical Character Recognition, simply, reading text from images!
You can take a picture of a handwritten recipe, from magazines, newspapers, PDF's and print outs, use our box tool to select the recipe sections on the page and our clever recipe scanner tool will convert your picture into text.
Although it is right 97% of the time, we always recommend reviewing the results once the scan has been completed against the original.
A little editing is sometimes required to correct any characters the tool has confused with another (look out for the fractions - 1/4 can catch it out - this is something we are currently working on teaching our own machine learning tool to better understand and interpret).
