The OCR tool is sensitive to a number of factors so to get best results please ensure you are doing the following:
- The most important part is ensuring the page is completely flat (without any bow/bend) and well/equally lit when taking a photo. This helps the OCR tool determine where the lines start and finish.
- Ensure you select ingredient and step blocks separately if they are in two or more columns. For instance, if 12 ingredients are in two horizontally adjacent blocks of 6, ensure you select each block of 6 in a new selection.
- A little trial and error. Once you've scanned a recipe, you can see the result and try again to see what works best.
