When entering ingredients into CookBook we recommend that you follow this structure:
AMOUNT MEASURE INGREDIENT, NOTES
This is to ensure that other tools in CookBook such as scaling, conversion, shopping list ingredient merging & categorisation all work at their best.
To create an ingredient or method header use a colon : and for non measured ingredients use a 0 (a number is always required for scaling etc.).
Here's an example:
For the Salad:
1 handful of lettuce
1 cup of carrot, grated into ribbons
200 grams swiss cheese, grated
0 pinch of salt
For the Dressing:
1 tbsp of olive oil
50 ml of white wine vinegar, or red wine vinegar, you choose!
You can also always tap the 'SEE HELP' link at the top of the ingredient & method for instructions and examples.
Measures and conversion
It is really important you select the correct measure when creating your recipe to specify what units your ingredients are in so that when converting them, it will be accurate.
If the correct one is not selected, the conversion could be out by up to 20%. You can set the measure group of your ingredients in the edit section underneath the ingredient list box.
You can select from either US Standard, Metric or Imperial
