CookBook has a feature built into the app which will automatically detect if you have a URL copied in your clipboard.
When you're browsing through the web on your phones browser, you can either use the share extension to send the webpage to CookBook, or you can copy the URL then swap over to CookBook. Upon re-opening CookBook if sharing clipboard is enabled, CookBook will read your clipboard and see if you have a URL copied, CookBook will then ask you if you would like to import this URL into your CookBook.
If you are on an iOS device, you may see a pop up saying "CookBook pasted from messages" this is Apple warning you that CookBook is accessing your phones clipboard (not actually necessarily pasting anything).
CookBook checks your clipboard to look for a URL link, if no link is detected, it ignores the contents of the clipboard and therefore the pop up within CookBook "URL detected" does not display.
To allow this feature to work you will need to enable CookBook to access your clipboard. You can do this:
- In your phone/tablet CookBook app, from the main page, tap on the menu icon in the top right hand corner
- Scroll down to 'Settings'
- Under 'General' you'll see 'Allow clipboard reader', select 'Allow' or 'Do not read'
- Hit back and you're saved!
