How do the shopping lists work?

Our shopping lists have heaps of tools to make them smart, editable and interactive.

Your active shopping list will sync across your devices with live changes!

We have created machine learning models & AI parsing to interpret your ingredients, understand what the core ingredient is, and how to best place it into the shopping lists aisles!

(Please note that our models have only been trained in English and may not work as well in other languages)

Complete & delete

1. Swipe left to delete an item (red slider)
2. Swipe right to complete / cross off an item (green slider)
3. Tap on an item to complete / cross it off
4. Tap on the more menu then select 'Delete completed' to delete all completed items

If you'd like to delete all items on your shopping list, go into edit mode, tap on the more menu and select 'Delete all'

Item info

1. Tap on the arrow to the right of an item to view it's full information including the original ingredient, what items have been merged and the recipe they came from

Edit item & aisle swap

1. Tap within the ingredient info area when dropped down to edit an item
2. Tap in the relevant text box to edit the amount, measure & ingredient (note this will only change the item on the shopping list, not within the recipe it came from)
3. Tap on the aisle button to select a different aisle for the item to live in (note this will change the aisle for that item whenever it is added to a list in future)
4. Hit 'Save'

Merged items

1. You'll see this icon on any items that have been merged with another
2. Expand the items full information to see what items have been merged
3. To unmerge these items, tap within the ingredient info area and tap the unmerge icon in the top left corner
4. When added to the shopping list, it will now always split these items (see our bulk edit FAQ for how to undo this)

Add an item to your 'Regular items' list

1. Tap within the ingredient info area when dropped down to edit an item
2. Tap on the star in the top left corner
3. This item will now show in your 'Regular items' list

More menu options

1. Edit - Takes you into the bulk edit screen for your list
2. Hide / Show complete - Makes your crossed off / complete items either show or hide
3. Share list - Create a PDF, send via SMS, copy the items in your list or share another way using your devices share sheet
4. Convert units - Select a different measurement that you'd like to display your ingredients in when shopping - see more about this here
5. Sync & refresh - Manual refresh and sync of your list
6. Expand all - Expands the full information for all items in your shopping list
7. Collapse all - Collapses the full information for all items in your shopping list
8. Delete completed - Delete all of the completed items from your list
