Quick answer: Open a recipe, tap Edit, scroll to the Nutrition section, then tap Calculate nutrition. CookBook will estimate the nutritional values based on the ingredients in your recipe.
Automatically calculate nutrition for a recipe
Open the recipe you want to calculate nutrition for.
Tap Edit.
Scroll down to the Nutrition section.
Tap Calculate nutrition.
CookBook will estimate calories, macros, and other nutrition values from the ingredients.
You can review and adjust anything before saving the recipe.
Tip: After you calculate and save nutrition on your recipes, CookBook can use that information to show daily calories, fat, carbs, and protein totals in the meal planner.
Add your own nutritional information
If you already know the nutrition values or want to enter them manually:
Open the recipe and tap Edit.
Scroll to the Nutrition section.
Tap Edit in the nutrition area.
Enter or paste the nutritional information.
Tap Save.
Daily nutrition values
CookBook’s default daily nutrition values are based on USDA and FDA recommendations using a 2,000 calorie daily diet.
Set your own macro goals
You can customise your nutrition targets in Settings.
Go to Side menu → Settings → Nutrition goals and set your preferred targets for:
Calories
Total fat
Carbohydrates
Protein
CookBook estimates total calories from macros using standard nutrition calculations:
1 g fat = 9 kcal
1 g carbohydrates = 4 kcal
1 g protein = 4 kcal
If your macro targets add up to a different calorie total than your daily calorie goal, the values may not match perfectly. Adjusting either your macro grams or your calorie goal will help keep them aligned.
Show or hide nutrition information
If you prefer not to display nutrition data, you can toggle it on or off.
Open Side menu → Settings.
Find the Nutrition display option.
Turn it on or off depending on your preference.
