Quick answer: CookBook doesn’t use folders, instead, we use Tags. Tags let you group recipes any way you like and then filter or combine them to find exactly what you’re craving.
About tags
Tags are completely flexible - you can add as many as you want and name them anything:
low carb, BBQ dinners, under 20 mins, Sam’s faves - even emojis like ⭐❤️
When searching, you can select multiple tags at once to combine filters and narrow results across your entire collection.
How to filter by tags
Tap on the Recipes tab.
At the end of the search bar, tap the Filter icon
The filter panel will slide in from the side. Scroll to Tags.
Tick one or more tags to filter your recipes.
Tap Confirm
Tap the tick in the top right corner or tap off the side of the screen to close the panel.
To clear filters, tap the bin icon above your recipe list.
Tips
Tag combinations work like sub-folders. For example:
BBQ + under 20 mins → quick BBQ dinners
vegan + weeknight → easy vegan meals
desserts + Sam’s faves → your favourite sweets
Use emojis to visually group recipes, 🔥 for spicy, 🍝 for pasta.
You can bulk-add tags to recipes and even set custom tag images to keep everything visually organised.
