How do I customise the dashboard / home tab?

Quick answer: The Home tab gives you quick ways to search, create, browse, and jump around CookBook. You can customise which dashboard sections appear by going to Side menu ☰ → Settings → Appearance → Dashboard, then turning sections on or off. You can also turn off the Ask CookBook AI button if you do not want to use AI features.

Dashboard sections

Depending on your settings, your dashboard can show sections such as:

  • Recent recipes
  • Pinned recipes
  • Planned recipes
  • Trending recipes
  • Tags
  • Custom dashboard tags

Show or hide dashboard sections

To choose what appears on your dashboard:

  1. Open the Side menu ☰.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Go to Appearance.
  4. Find Dashboard.
  5. Turn the dashboard sections on or off.

Show specific tags on the dashboard

You can also choose specific tags to show on your dashboard.

For example, you might show recipes from tags such as Weekly faves or Must try, so those recipes are easier to access from the Home tab.

Hide the Ask CookBook AI button

If you do not want to use Ask CookBook, you can turn off the AI button.

  1. To hide Ask CookBook:
  2. Open the Side menu ☰.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Go to Appearance.
  5. Find the Ask CookBook setting.
  6. Turn it off.

This will hide the Ask CookBook AI button from both the dashboard / Home tab and recipe edit.

Quick Finder

At the top of the Home tab, you’ll find Quick Finder.

Quick Finder is designed to help you search or start different actions from one place, such as searching your recipes, ingredients, recipe sources, Google, or creating recipes with AI.

This works differently from the search in the Recipes tab. If you only want to search your saved recipes, go to Recipes, then use the search there.

Quick actions

Quick actions are the buttons on your dashboard that help you get where you need to go faster.

They can take you to useful areas of CookBook or help you start common actions quickly.
