Quick answer: On iOS, tap Share under a YouTube video → More… → CookBook, then choose Save or Edit recipe. CookBook pulls the recipe from the video caption or linked website.
Tips for better results
- Importing works best when the full recipe is written in the video caption.
- If no caption recipe is found, CookBook follows any linked website and tries to import from there.
Import a recipe from YouTube
- Open the YouTube video that contains the recipe.
- Tap Share (below or beside the video).
- Tap More….
- Or tap Copy….
- Copy the video link, then open the CookBook dashboard.
- Tap Paste in the quick-action row, then tap Confirm.
- Review the preview (title, servings, ingredients).
- If the scan looks right, tap Save; to discard, tap Delete.
- On the edit screen you can add tags, images, nutrition data, and more.
- Tap Save to finish.
