Quick answer: CookBook doesn’t offer account-linking or family profiles yet. You can either share your login details or each person can maintain separate accounts and exchange individual recipes.
Option 1 - Share your login (use with caution)
- Give your email / username and password to anyone you want inside the account.
- They will have full control: adding, editing, deleting recipes, changing tags, meal-planner slots, shopping lists and account details/settings.
- As the account holder you’re legally responsible for everything done under your credentials, including subscription changes and in-app purchases.
- Two-factor or single-sign-on (Apple / Google) must also be shared if enabled.
Option 2 - Keep separate accounts and share recipes
- Each person creates their own CookBook account (free tier or subscription).
- Share recipes one-by-one via:
- CB file export / import
- QR code (mobile apps)
Everyone keeps personal favourites, tags and meal plans while still exchanging dishes.
Why we advise separate accounts
- Personal meal plans, nutrition goals and shopping lists stay private.
- No risk of accidental edits or deletions across the shared library.
- Clear audit trail for subscription payments and billing details.
