Quick answer: When editing a recipe, you can format instruction text by wrapping words in simple markers: use **double asterisks** for bold, __double underscores__ for italics, and ~~double tildes~~ for strikethrough.

  1. Open the recipe you want to edit.
  2. Tap the Edit icon.
  3. Scroll to the Instructions section.
  4. Tap Learn about instruction formatting to view the available formatting options.
  5. Wrap the text you want to format using the markers below.
  6. Tap Save when you are happy with the recipe.

Formatting options

Use these markers around the exact words you want to format:

  • **Bold** makes text bold.
  • __Italics__ makes text italic.
  • ~~Strikethrough~~ adds strikethrough.

Examples

  • Type Bake for **25 minutes**. to highlight the timing.
  • Type Add the herbs __just before serving__. to add emphasis.
  • Type Use ~~1 tsp~~ 2 tsp paprika. to show a change or correction.

Tips
