What languages does CookBook support?

Quick answer: CookBook is fully supported in English today. A beta version with Spanish, French, German, and Italian interface text will roll out soon. During beta, some features may still work best in English.

Current language support

English – full app interface and all features (importer, shopping list, scaling, unit conversion, etc.).English is the only fully supported language in CookBook.

Note: While the menus and buttons will appear in these languages, advanced features such as recipe importing, ingredient recognition, shopping-list aisle categorisation, and scaling may still rely on English-language data. You may see mixed results until the underlying AI models are retrained.

Why full localisation is complex

Ingredient parsing & unit conversion need language-specific data.
Shopping-list aisles rely on machine-learning categories built in English.
Recipe importer must detect and map measurements, steps, and quantities in each language.
